T Chandrashekhar is now MD and V-P of MHADA

Mumbai, Aug 8 (UNI) T Chandrashekhar, the high profile bureaucrat who was recently appointed as Transport secretary by the state government, has now been shifted to Maharashtra Housing and Area Development Authority (MHADA) as Managing Director and Vice President.

Mr Chandrashekhar, who has been credited with transforming Thane and Nagpur cities during his stint as Municipal Commissioner, was the Metropolitan Commissioner of Mumbai Metropolitan Regional Development Authority (MMRDA) till last month.

Incumbent MD and V-P of MHADA I S Chahal has been transferred to the State Excise department as Commissioner. Ramanath Jha, who was the State Excise Commissioner, will be the Transport secretary in place of Mr Chandrashekhar, official sources said.

Mr Nirmal Kumar Deshmukh, who was Joint CEO of MHADA, has been transferred to Maharashtra Industrial Development Corporation (MIDC) as Joint CEO while Tanaji Sapre who served as Joint CEO of MIDC has been shifted to MHADA as Joint CEO in place of Mr Deshmukh.
