School children write to President for Munnabhai's cause

Varanasi, Aug 8 (UNI) School children of this temple city today wrote letters to President Pratibha Patil for shortening the sentence to film star Sanjay Dutt presently serving six-year imprisonment in the Yerewada Jail in the 1993 Mumbai blast case.

Over 150 students of K K Chaturvedi Memorial Central Academy School in Ramapura area here wrote letters to Mrs Patil and the Supreme Court for shortening the punishment of 'Munnabhai.' Spanning from Roshni -- a student of nursery school -- to Swapna and Ganesh, students of eighth standard, the school children posted their letters in the school post box also appealing the apex court to release the popular Bollywood actor on bail.

''These letters will now be sent to the Rashtrapati Bhawan and Supreme Court to connect the voice of children with the nation,'' director of the school Anand Chaturvedi said.

UNI
