QC Lab set up at Tiruchy Indian Oil terminal

Tiruchirapalli, Aug 8 (UNI) A full-fledged Quality Control (QC) Laboratory for testing fuels has been formally inaugurated at Indian Oil's Tiruchirapalli terminal at Valavandankottai near here.

Unveiling the QC Laboratory today, a Indian Oil Southern Region General Manager M Nageswaran said Tiruchirapalli terminal was fed by Chennai-Trichy-Madurai pipeline, the longest in a state which carried petrol, diesel and kerosene in sequences through a single line. The QC Laboratory was equipped to handle a primary test on the fuel to establish the specification of the fuels, besides equipped with master testing equipments for certifying thermometers and hydrometers for use by the petrol and diesel pumps.

He said it was the company's sixth laboratory in Tamil Nadu at Tiruchirapally, apart from Chennai, Narimanam, Sankagiri, Madurai and Tuticorin.

Indian Oil had 40 field laboratories across the country to ensure the quality of the fuels delivered out of the storage locations.
