Panther's Party playing political game with Talwara migrants: Azad
Jammu, Aug 8 (UNI) Criticising ''the dirty politics of Panthers Party'', Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Ghulam Nabi Azad today said ''some selfish leaders'' have been playing an unethical game with the future of Talwara migrants.
In an interview to a local TV channel, the Chief Minister reiterated that his government was ready to provide releif to the Talwara migrants according to guidelines of Supreme Court but Panthers Party was playing unethical game.
The Panthers Party insisted relief with arrears since 1999 which was not possible immediately because government does not have sufficient funds, Mr Azad said.
''We repeatedly asked them to accept the relief but under political pressure they are asking for arrears since 1999 which the government is ready to pay but it would take some time.'' ''I personally instructed Jammu divisional commissioner to go to the relief camp and distribute relief as cash, foodgrains and kerosene oil and they were ready to accept it but some politicians sitting in the meeting indicated migrants not to accept relief. We have video tape,'' he said.
''We have money and sufficient stock of foodgrains and kerosene oil for migrants who are living in various camps including Talwara Camp, Reasi, but they are not accepting the relief,'' he added.
In reply of a question regarding fatwa of Hurriyat leader Syed Ali Shah Gellani, Hizb-ul Mujahideen (HM) and other terrorist outfits against non Kashmiri labourers, Mr Azad said there were some mad and mentally ill politicians in the country as well as in Kashmir who have habit to issue fatwa from their home.
''These sirfire (mentaly sick) and Kuen ke mendhak (frog in a well) are not bother about 15 Lakh Kashmiris, mostly Kashmiri Muslims who are living in various part of the country including Goa, Maharashtra, Delhi, Karnataka, Andhra Pradesh and Punjab,'' he said.
Mr Azad, however, said his government would provide all possible security to non-Kashmiri labourers because they were playing an important role in development of Jammu and Kashmir.
