N-deal would favour US only: Venkaiah

Tirupati, Aug 8: Bharatiya Janata Party(BJP) leader M Venkaiah Naidu yesterday said the Indo-American civil-nuclear deal would favour only the United States.

Talking to newspersons here, he said the 123-agreement, was an assault on India's nuclear sovereignty and the issue would be raised in the next Parliament session.

Mr Naidu said the Centre should explain to the people the rationale behind the deal with the United States and the conditions imposed on India.

He admitted that the BJP is facing problems with its outfit Vishawa Hindu Parishad (VHP) on certain issues.

The BJP would consolidate its base in the State and would contest alone in forthcoming elections, he added.
