Nominations invited for Wildlife Protection Award
New Delhi, Aug 8 (UNI) The Ministry of Environment and Forests today invited nominations for Amrita Devi Bishnoi Wildlife Protection Award, instituted for encouraging efforts for protecting wildlife.
The award carries Rs one lakh apart from citation and a medallion.
The honour is given to an individual/institution from rural areas for having shown exemplary courage and valour or having done some exemplary work for the protection of wildlife in the country.
There is no age limit for nominees. Any citizen can also recommend a name.
The last date for receipt of recommendations is August 20. The nomination, signed by the sponsor along with the recommendation of the Chief Wild Life Warden should be sent to The Director, Wild Life Preservation, Ministry of Environment and Forests, New Delhi.
