Muzaffarpur, Aug 8 (UNI) National Democratic Alliance (NDA) Convenor George Fernandes today charged Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar with 'deliberately neglecting' his constituency -Muzaffarpur- in distributing relief materials among the flood victims.

After visiting the flood affected areas here Mr Fernandes alleged that Mr Kumar was not paying enough attention and turning Nelson's eye to his constituency because of political vendetta even as it was one of the worst flood hit areas in the state and was in dire need of relief and rescue operation.

" If Nitish has political differences with me, it should not come in way of providing succour to flood affected people in my constituency," Mr Fernandes said adding he would soon take up the issue with the Chief Minister himself.

The former Defence minister also pulled up the UPA government at the Centre for not announcing any financial assistance to Bihar to tackle the flood situation even a day after receiving a memorandum from the Chief Minister through Union Home Minister Shivraj Patil.

Mr Patil, being an important member of the Union cabinet should have announced some sort of assistance on the spot itself during his whrilwind aerial survey of the flood hit areas and its extent of damage in Bihar with the UPA Chairperson Sonia Gandhi, he added.

" I think Mr Patil will have to talk to the Congress president separately before announcing any assistance to Bihar, as she appears to be the real Prime Minister of India,'' he sarcastically remarked.
