Murder of farmer causes tension

Bongaon, Aug 8 (UNI) Murder of a 45-year-old farmer caused tension at Sona Kenia Abad area under Habra police station in North 24 Parganas this morning while associates of the victim set fire the killer's house, police said.

A large police force was deployed in the village to restore normalcy. However, no one was arrested so far.

According to police, the victim Najrul Mandal was allegedly killed by a neighbour when he was at his farm land at about 0830 hours. The miscreant chopped Najrul by sharp weapon. The incident was a sequel to a dispute over constructing border line of their lands.
