Mayawati government to bring parity in fees structure
Allahabad, Aug 8 (UNI) Uttar Pradesh Higher Education Minister Rakesh Dhar Tripathi today said the Mayawati-led BSP regime was planning to bring parity in fees of the state universities and degree colleges.
Talking to UNI here, Mr Tripathi said ''the government was going to constitute a seven-member committee comprising educationists, intellectuals, vice chancellors and literary persons to study the issue and suggest steps be taken in this regard.'' ''Ironically, there is no parity in fees structure and most of the institutions are charging fees as per their own choice,'' the Minister noted.
Mr Tripathi said the fee structure of the state varsities and degree colleges would be the same, but there might be some difference in the fee structure of private and self financed colleges as they were not not getting any aid from the government.
On asked about hardships faced by students due to limited seats in universities, he said the degree colleges had already been asked to increase the number of seats by 25 per cent and make arrangements of morning and evening classes.
