New Delhi, Aug 8 (UNI) Asserting that the Government would succeed in sorting out the differences with the Left Parties over the operationalisation of the 123 agreement on Indo-US civil nuclear deal, the Congress today ruled out any possibility of the UPA government being "destabilised" on this issue.

"Absolutely there is no question of this government being destabilised...Our government will last the entire term, " AICC Spokesperson Jayanthi Natarajan told mediapersons, while reacting to the warning of the Left parties against the government further proceeding with the 123 agreement.

She said the statement of the Left parties, whose outside support is crucial to the three-year-old government, could not be seen as an ultimatum to the government, and asserted the party was confident that Prime Minister Manmohan Singh and the government would be able to convince" them that the government had acted only in the interests of the nation.

"All political parties, including the Left, have the right to hold their views. However, we are confident that the Left could be convinced," she said.

Pointing out that the 123 agreement would, under no circumstances, create any kind of problem as alleged by the Left or other parties, the spokesperson said the Prime Minister had already spelt out the contours of the discussions India had with the US on the deal.

"Our government always acted in the best interests of the country and its people." Asked if the Congress Party would favour a debate on the 123 agreement in the monsoon session of Parliament, Ms Natarajan said "Our party is not against any discussion. But it is a subject matter which has to be decided by the floor leaders and the Speaker of the Lok Sabha." On the statement of the Left leaders that they would press for a constitutional amendment for bringing international treaties and certain bilateral agreements for approval in Parliament, Ms Natarajan said "it is a complicated question with national and international ramifications... It is a serious matter...This is an issue which has to be discussed seriously...It involves a great deal of discussion." On the forthcoming Monsoon session of Parliament from August 10, she appealed to the BJP-led Opposition to play a constructive role by participating in the proceedings of both the houses and raise the issues facing the people.
