HC stays transfers of doctors
Shillong, Aug 08 (UNI) The Shillong Bench of Gauhati High Court has stayed the order of Meghalaya government transferring doctors in government hospital throughout the state.
The state government has ordered transfer of 200 doctors from several government-run hospitals. The Meghalaya Medical Services Association (MMSA) had opposed the government decision.
Justice A.P.Subba, who heard a MMSA's petition yesterday against ''mass transfer'' of doctors, directed the government to maintain a status quo in the matter and stayed the order.
Earlier, the MMSA had threatened to agitate in the state against the state government's order.
