HC stays sale of sick cooperative sugar mills
Allahabad, Aug 8 (UNI) The Allahabad High Court today stayed the sale/privatisation of 28 sick cooperative sugar mills and seven distilleries.
The HC said the sale of the cooperative sugar mills and distilleries would adversely affect the mills.
The order was passed by a division bench comprising Justices Sushil Harkauli and K N Ojha on a writ petition filed by Balidan Singh and others.
The petitioner had challenged the state government's order of June 4 and July 7, whereby, it had taken a policy decision to sell all sick cooperative sugar mills and distilleries.
