HC directs UP chief secretary to file personal affidavit

Allahabad, Aug 8 (UNI) Allahabad High Court has directed the Uttar Pradesh chief secretary and Vijai Kumar Sharma, the then Agra division commissioner to file their personal affidavit within three weeks in case of non-compliance of a HC order.

The court fixed August 27 for the next hearing.

The bench comprising Justices V M Sahai and Bharati Sapru passed the order on a writ petition filed by Randhir Singh Duhan, sub-divisional magistrate, Muzaffarnagar.

The petitioner was suspended on September 15, 2000, and an inquiry under the leadership of V K Sharma, the then division commissioner, Agra.

It was painted out to HC that Mr Sharma, instead of conducting inquiry, delegated his power to the other officer.
