Father sentenced to life for killing minor son

Rourkela, Aug 8 (UNI) A father was sentenced to life imprisonment by a local court here today for killing his five-year-old son.

Additional Adhoc Sessions Judge and fast track court Sobhan Kumar Dash today convicted one Mahmed Sabir (25) of Gopabandhupalli under plant site police station and sentenced to life holding him guilty under section 302 of Indian Penal Code.

The judge also imposed a fine of Rs 10,000 failing which the convict would undergo rigorous imprisonment for another six months.

According to the prosecution, Sabir suspecting the character of his wife, took his son for an evening ride on November 15 last year and murdered him by a ''douli'', used for cutting tree.
