Drug peddler who escaped from police custody nabbed

Varanasi, Aug 7 (UNI) Hours after escaping from police custody, a drug peddler was this evening nabbed here.

Devanand Pandey, a resident of Assi locality in Varanasi, who had earlier in the day flew the coop, while being taken to be produced in the district court in an NDPS Act case, was held from Lanka area, police said.

Pandey was arrested recently for possessing narcotic substance and was this afternoon being taken in the court of Additional District Judge Harish Shukla.

Further investigations were on.
