CBI writes to Pak Interpol to confirm Dawood's presence
New Delhi, Aug 8 (UNI) The CBI, which represents Interpol in India, today wrote to its Pakistani counterpart, the Federal Investigating Agency, asking it to confirm whether underworld don Dawood Ibrahim is in Pakistan or not.
The agency, in its letter, quoted recent media reports, which indicated the presence of the gangster in Karachi, CBI sources said.
The gangster is wanted in the 1993 Mumbai serial blasts case.
While some reports this week said that he had been injured in a shootout in Karachi, there were other reports that the don had been detained in Quetta along with his aides Tiger Memon and Chhota Shakeel.
The CBI asked the FIA to confirm if the don was in Pakistan or not, sources said.
