Bhoruka Group to set up eye hospital in Karnataka
Bangalore, Aug 8 (UNI) Bhoruka Welfare (BW), the CSR initiative of leading city-based business house Bhoruka Group, will set up an eye hospital in Gulbarga district with an investment of Rs three crore.
"Bhoruka Netralaya" would start functioning from October this year and would conduct up to 6000 surgeries in the first two years and increase it to 10,000 per annum thereafter. The hospital would receive technical assistance from Arvind Eye Hospital of Madurai in Tamil Nadu, a company release said here today.
Commenting on the project BW Director Krishna Madhav said the aim was to benefit the poor in the backward districts of Gulbarga and Bidar and other surrounding areas. "According to records Gulbarga district has the highest percentage of partial and complete blindness in the country," he added.
