All party delegation should meet PM on floods in Bihar:Anwar

Patna,Aug8(UNI) Nationalist Congress Party(NCP) General secretary Tariq Anwar today advocated that a delegation of representatives from all political parties, led by Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar, should meet Prime Minister Dr Manmohan Singh for seeking special package for the floods in the state.

Mr Anwar told newspersons here that all political leaders of the state should join hands in tackling the flood situation as it was not proper to politicise the ''miseries'' caused by natural calamity.

'' The Centre and state should work in tandem to find a solution to perennial problem of floods as millions of people in north Bihar are affected by this catastrophy almost every year '', he said adding standing crops worth crores of rupees were also damaged by floods.

''In this hour of crisis, the NDA government was not working like a coherrent unit, while the BJP is engaged in taking political mileage by appreciating its ministers in the government for good works in carrying out relief and rescue operation in flood ravaged areas of the state'', Mr Anwar rued.

Mr Anwar said that workers of NCP would seek alms from August 9 throughout the state to collect relief for marooned people.

He also announced to donate one month of his salary to CM's relief funds and also urged the people's representatives to do the same for providing succour to the suffering masses.
