UP: 3 killed as SUV rolls down into canal

Hardoi, Aug 8: At least three people, including an executive officer, were killed and three others critically injured after a speeding SUV carrying them flipped off the Hardoi-Kanpur highway and plunged into a link canal here tonight.

The mishap took place in Bilgram area, in which three persons were killed on the spot.

The injured were rushed to a hospital, where their condition was stated to be severe.

The deceased were identified as Shyam Sundar Srivastava executive officer in Kursat Nagar Panchayat, Madhavganj and Kachona Nagar Panchayat clerks Satyapal and Rajaram respectively.

According to police, the vehicle was dragged out from the canal with the help of the villagers.
