Utt Goenkara demands dropping of Health Minister from cabinet
Panaji, Aug 7 (UNI) Activists of 'Utt Goenkara' today demanded that Health Minister Vishwajeet Rane be dropped immediately from the Cabinet for allegedly threatening to kill spokesman Aires Rodrigues.
'Utt Goenkara' also sought Rane's arrest over his high-handedness.
Mr Rodrigues told mediapersons, ''Goa CM Digambar Kamat has been given a three-day ultimatum by 'Utt Goenkara' to take action against Rane. We will also hold peaceful demonstrations at all functions of the health minister.'' Mr Roderigues had received a threatening call on July 31 where the caller, according to Roderigues, had said: ''This is Vishwajeet Rane. Be careful. I will get you shot.'' ''I have ascertaind from IDEA cellular company that I received a threatening call from mobile phone number 9881476791 on July 31 at 0811 hours which lasted 18 seconds. The cell phone belongs to Mrs Divya Rane, wife of accused Vishwajeet Rane,'' he said.
Mr Rodrigues also informed that he had written to the Old Goa police to include Mrs Divya Rane as the co-accused in his complaint and to immediately register an FIR against Mr Vishwajeet Rane and his wife and take action for the offence they have committed as per the provisions of law. He had also written to IDEA Cellular demanding that the facility of CLIR (caller line identification restriction) which has been given to Mrs Divya Rane be immediately withdrawn, Mr Rodrigues said.
Advocate Rodrigues said, 'Utt Goenkara' would vigorously pursue their demand for an inquiry into the Miramar Sex scandal, corruption in recruitment of government staff and the fraud in the Goa Regional Plan 2011, in which Mr Rane allegedly plays a very dubious role.'' He said, ''It is ironical that Health Minister Rane is threatening people on one hand and on the other, he has sought extra security cover, something which has never been enjoyed by a Cabinet minister in Goa.'' The delegation of 'Utt Goenkara' will also call on Governor S C Jamir and Home Minister Ravi Naik demanding action against Health minister for his high-handed behaviour, he added.
