Dupont to start health solutions plant by month-end

New Delhi, Aug 7 (UNI) Eyeing an yearly growth of 25 per cent, the US based chemicals and engineering giant Dupont today said it will start commercial manufacturing of disinfectants from its plant at Baadi in Himachal Pradesh by the month-end.

''The plant will start production of animal and human health bio-security solutions by the end of this month,'' company's President and CEO S Kalsi told reporters.

The Baddi facility, spread over 8,000 sq feet of land, will manufacture a range of chemistries that include disinfectants, cleansers and sanitisers for animal health.

The products produced under the facility will not only cater to the domestic market but will also be exporting.

''Besides India, the products produced under this facility will be exported across the globe, including Asian countries and West,'' company's Regional Marketing Manager (Asia Pacific) Dipak Parikh said.

The commercial manufacturing of company's similar plant in China will start over the next two months.

''At Dupont, we believe biosecurity will be cornerstone of the Indian livestock industry, enabling Indian farmers to compete successfully in both the domestic and the international markets with safe and healthy food products,'' Mr Parikh said.

Dupont India, a 400-million-dollar company, has six production facilities in the country in three locations for Dupont crop production, Dupont engineering polymers, Dupont refinish and pioneer hybrid seeds.

The company receives 28 per cent of revenue from food and related business. The company, a subsidiary of E I du Pont de Nemours and company, markets a wide range of products in various market segments.
