A Bengali labourer injured, SPO abducted, one ultra arrested in J

Srinagar, Aug 7 (UNI) Unidentified gunmen shot at and wounded a labourer from West Bengal militants abducted and released a Special Police Officer (SPO) and security forces arrested a Lashker-e-Toiba (LeT) activist in the Jammu and Kashmir.

An official spokesman said a group of gunmen shot at and wounded a labourer Abdul Kalam son of Peer Mohammad, resident of Malda, West Bengal, at Drawani Zainpora in Shopian district. He was hospitalised.

A number of separatist organisations had recently asked all non- locals to leave the valley.

In separate incident militants kidnapped SPO Idrees Ahmad Khan at Pazalpora in Baramulla district. However, he was released after severe beating.

Security forces have arrested LeT upper ground worker at Banihal in Ramban district.
