''Udayamritam'' of Amrita TV enters Limca Book of Records-2007
Thiruvananthapuram, Aug 6 (UNI) ''Udayamritam'', a morning programme in Amrita TV, has entered the ''Limca Book of Records-2007'' for creating the ''Longest single-shot non-fiction'' programme in Indian television.
The programme has been included on page 133 under the chapter, ''Television, the citation state'' in the Limca Book of Records-2007, a release from Amrita TV said here.
The special programme conceived for Onam, the harvest festival of Kerala, brought together different traditional art forms at Arangottukara village in Thrissur district.
The shooting was done in one shot for 55 minutes in front of Varakkappally Mana, one of the important landmarks in the region, and aired on September five, 2006.
Around 50 traditional artistes and 75 crew members worked in unison to create this episode of ''Udayamritam''.
Unlike fiction, the team were not able to dub the audio later and so went ahead with spot recording, the release said.
The entire sequence was recorded using a hand-held camera and the show was anchored by Mochitha, winner of the State Award for Best Television Presenter 2005-2006.
Reji Syne was the director and Prasanth, the cameraman.
