Hooda asks voluntary organisations to strengthen communal harmony

New Delhi, Aug 6 (UNI) Haryana Chief Minister Bhupinder Singh Hooda has called on voluntary organisations to play a significant role for strengthening the bonds of brotherhood and communal harmony in the society by helping the poor, needy and destitute people.

Speaking at a social function organised by the Bhiwani Kahror Pucca Sabha at Pragati Maidan here last evening, Mr Hooda said that such social functions help in spreading the message of love, brotherhood and unity in the society and also inspires people for extending help to the poor, needy and destitute.

He said that Bhiwani Kahror Pucca Sabha is doing commendable works in the field of social service for the last two decades.

He said that a homeopathy dispensary and a charitable hospital was being run by the Sabha in Bhiwani for helping the poor and needy people of the society. Free medical camps were also being organised by the Sabha from time to time and in addition to this, the computer centres and women sewing training centre were also being run by the organisation.

The Chief Minister announced a financial assistance of Rs 1,51,000 from his discretionary fund for Bhiwani Kahror Pucca Sabha for undertaking various welfare works for the poor and needy people.

On the occasion, Haryana's Minister of State for Forests and Tourism Kiran Chaudhry lauded the various welfare works being undertaken by the Bhiwani Kahror Pucca Sabha for the upliftment of poor, needy and other weaker sections of the society.

She said that by doing remarkable works in the field of social service, the Bhiwani Kahror Pucca Sabha has earned a name and it has proved that this voluntary organisation has the capability of moving ahead for the welfare of society.

Presiding over the function, Dr T.D.Chug said that the Bhiwani Kahror Pucca Sabha was set up in 1988 and a number of welfare works were being undertaken by the Sabha which includes distributions of 10 kg wheat and rice to the needy, widows and handicapped people of society and running of a homeopathic dispensary and a charitable hospital in Bhiwani.

Dr Chug further informed that three computer training centres were also being run by the organisations in which 2100 students had already been imparted training and at present, 425 students are being imparted training.

An education fund was also set up by the organisation for helping talented and poor students and an amount of Rs. 100 to 150 is being given to ten students per month from this fund, he added.
