Girl urges police to prevent her''husband's remarriage

Puducherry, Aug 6 (UNI) A ninteen-year-old girl urged the police to prevent her husband from marrying another girl, here today.

The woman S Bhuvaneswari, a third year Bio-technology student of a private college at Perambalur in Tamil Nadu in a complaint to the Inspector General of Police, a copy of which was released to the press said, she had an affair with one P Srinivasan residing near her house and Mr Srinivasan bore the expenditure for her studies so far.

She also said they were living as husband and wife for the last four years and later Srinivasan had legally married her.

However, her husband's parents were arranging a marriage for him.

Her complaint to the all woman police station on July 19 and 20 was not registered, eventhough both the families were called for an interrogation, she said.

Hence, the IGP should intervene and ensure justice to her, she appealed in her complaint.

Meanwhile, former CPI(M) Secretary T Murugan at a joint press conference with the girl said the party would support Bhuvaneswari to settle down with Mr Srinivasan.

He also condemned the police for not registering a case on the Ms Bhuvaneswari's complaint.
