CPM state committee meeting on Aug 10
Vijayawada, Aug 6: A two-day state committee meeting of the Communist Party of India (Marxist) in Andhra Pradesh will be held at Hyderabad from August 10 to discuss the second phase of &34;Bhupooratam&34; and chalk out to implement the programme from the third week of this month, Party District Secretary V Umamaheswara Rao said today.
Addressing a press conference here, he said Chief Minister Y S Rajasekhara Reddy should own up responsibility for the Mudigonda firing on July 31, in which seven persons were killed and several injured.
Even the Amnesty international has found the police guilty of firing, he claimed.
He said the party demanded that a special independent commission on land distribution be set up to implement the Koneru Ranga Rao Committee recommendation and a special wing for supervising all the land related issues besides reclaiming the assaigned lands.
