Kochi, Aug 6 (UNI) Chief priest of the Sabarimala Ayyappa Temple Kandararu Maheshwararu today moved the Kerala High Court contending that the Paripooranan Commission, set up to enquire into the affairs of the Travancore Devaswom Board, has exceeded its jurisdiction.

The tantri made these averments in an impleadment petition filed by him and his son tantri Mohanararu, against whom certain allegations were raised, in a Writ petition filed by Radhakrishnan and others.

Mr Radhakrishnan had sought a direction from the court to enquire into the alleged irregularities in the Travancore Devaswom Board.

The High Court had later directed the government to constitute a high power committee and appointed retired judge Justice Paripooranan as its head.

The senior tantri in his application alleged that the Commission while examining tantri Mohanararu on June 25 this year had put questions which exceeded the jurisdiction of the Commission.

He contended that the Commission should limit its field of enquiry to the allegations mentioned in the Writ.

The High Court would hear the impleadment petition later.
