Amanath Yatra halted at Ramban, resumes now
Jammu, Aug 6 (UNI) The convoy of Amarnath pilgrims was halted at Panthyal in Ramban district of Jammu and Kashmir for about two hour following landslides due heavy rains in the area, official sources said here.
The yatra was halted as heavy rains lashed the mountainous area and landslides blocked the Jammu-Srinagar national Highway but vehicular traffic resumed at 1315 hrs today, sources said.
Meanwhile, the convoy of 547 pilgrims crossed 2.5 km long Jawahar Tunnel, sources said adding the pilgrims will reach Pahalgam and Baltal base camps by evening from where they will move towards the holy cave shrine, official sources said.
