1 drowned, 3 untraced as boat capsizes in Ganga

Ranchi, Aug 6 (UNI) At least four people, including a woman, drowned after a boat capsized in the Ganga in Jharkhand's Sahebganj district today.

The body of the woman was recovered whereas that of the three others remained untraced.

Deputy Superintendent of Police Nirmal Kumar Mishra told UNI over phone from Sahebganj that the incident took place at 0945 hrs when the boat carrying about 19 people capsized mid-stream near Hariprasad Diayara in the district.

However, 15 people swam to safety.

Mr Mishra said search operation was on to fish out those missing.
