Thousands of fishes die in Tawa river

Hoshangabad, MP, Aug 5 (UNI) Thousands of fishes have died in Tawa river near Rajon village in this district, police said today.

According to sarpanch Bhagirath Prasad and other villagers, the deaths occurred due to some poisonous substance put into water with the intention of fishing.

Fishing has been banned in the river up to August 15 in view of breeding season of fishes.

On receiving information, Sub-Divisional Officer Niyaz Ahmed reached the village.
