'Sachar Committee report to augment efforts for uplift of Muslims'
Jamshedpur, Aug 5 (UNI) The Sachar Committee report would help efforts meant for the uplift of the Muslims and the community should be made aware of its rights, Union Minister of State for Food Processing Subodh Kant Sahay has said.
Mr Sahay suggested that Madrasas should get themselves affiliated to Open Universities and other educational institutions to provide better education to its students.
Addressing a seminar on 'Backwardness of Muslims--Reasons and Solutions' organised by the Muslim Adhikar Morcha here last night, the senior Congress leader said the Centre had introduced a number of policies for the uplift of the community and the Sachar committee report was a part of this effort.
He said Muslims should come out and join the mainstream by claiming their ''rightful dues'' instead of the tendency to ''complain''.
