Justice Sadasiva calls upon Media to play role in creating awarness

Mysore, Aug 5 (UNI) Former Karnataka High Court Judge Justice A J Sadasiva today said that media should play a key role in creating awareness among people to make them responsible in society.

Speaking at a function organised by the Mysore District Journalists Association to mark Newspapers Day here, he said that scribes have very important responsibility in investigative journalism besides regular reporting of the news to the people.

Judiciary and media were supposed to be clean and straight in approach, however, few people are developing second thoughts regarding that journalism should never become a commercial venture lest the very basic purpose was defeated, he opined.

He said that reporters should know the actual thinking in a right way and report as it is, otherwise the meaning would be changed and even some of it becomes controversial.

Scribes should never just allege but investigate and report the truth, he added.
