HP education hub of country, says CM
Shimla, Aug 5 (UNI) Lauding the missionary educational institutions in the state, Himachal Pradesh Chief Minister Virbhadra Singh today said the state is poised to emerge as the educational hub of the country in future.
Inaugurating the four-day congregation of the Council of Bishops of the Church of North India here, he said the state had succeeded in creating over 16,500 educational institutions in the government sector alone with over 2,500 educational institutions in private sector.
Mr Singh said the government was now emphasising on consolidating educational institutions and creating centres of par excellence to address in view of the new situation.
Lauding the missionay educational institutions set up at tourist resorts of Shimla, Dalhousie, Kasauli and other hill stations during the British era, he said they were imparting quality education to the students till now.
