Gangiyani Sandhoori mango variety is high yielding

Ludhiana, Aug 5 (UNI) Punjab Agricultural University (PAU) has recommended the planting of sucking mango, Gangiyan Sandhoori 19, based on its quality and yield.

The scientists of the Horticultural Research Centre, PAU, Dr N P Singh and Dr R C Sharma said that the trees of this variety were medium in size and the yield was 83 kg per plant.

Giving details, the scientists said the fruit size was quite big and weighed 188 gm on an average. Ripe mangoes had an orange coloured pulp within the range of 55.2 per cent.

The plants of this variety can be obtained from Horticulture Research Centre, Gangiyan near Dasuya in Hoshiarpur district. The planted in August and September, the prime months for plantation.
