Delhi BJP demands dismissal of Sheila Dikshit Government
New Delhi, Aug 5 (UNI) The Delhi BJP today demanded an inquiry by a retired Supreme court judge into the multi-crore land scam, involving contractor Ashok Malhotra and also forth dismissal of the Sheila Dikshit Government.
''Since Chief Minister Sheila Dikshit and her office staff are directly involved in this bungling, it is not possible to conduct any impartial inquiry without dismissing the government,'' Delhi BJP president Harsh Vardhan said.
In a memorandum to Home Minister Shivraj Patil, Dr Harsh Vardhan said the probe should be completed within a fixed time frame and the guilty punished.
''The truth must come out and the white collar criminals who have looted the public money must be sent to jail,'' he added.
Earlier, BJP workers held a demonstration and burnt an effigy of Chief Minister Sheila Dikshit. They also courted arrest during the demonstration organised by the BJYM and JJ Cell of Delhi Pradesh.
Deputy Leader of the Opposition in the Lok Sabha Vijay Kumar Malhotra said the BJP will demand an inquiry into the scam on the first day of the Monsoon session of Parliament, which commences on August 10.
''The BJP will not rest till the ''anti-poor and anti-people'' and ''corrupt'' Sheila Government is not dismissed,'' he added.
He alleged that CBI is being controlled by the Union government , hence its inquiry will not be impartial.
''Nobody trusts the probe of this agency,'' he added.
