837.8 mm of rainfall recorded in Kolhapur in last 24 hrs
Kolhapur, Aug 5 (UNI) A total of 837.8 mm of rainfall was recorded in the Kolhapur district during the last 24 hours.
The highest rainfall was recorded in Radhanagari tehsil at 153 mm, followed by Ajra 127 mm, Gaganbavada 107 mm, Chandgad 93 mm, Bhudargad 70 mm, Panhala 65 mm, Gadinglaj 55 mm, Karvir 45.1 mm, Shahuwadi 45 mm, Kagal 34.70 mm, Hatkanangale 27 mm and Shirol tehsil 17 mm, district collector office spokesman said today.
He added, the water levels at Rajaram Bandhara (weir) on Panchaganga river near Kasaba Bavada suburb increased upto 33.7 feet for the third time in the current monsoon season because of incessant rains for the last three days.
Five automatic gates of Radhanagari irrigation, which had been opened yesterday continued discharging 7,400 cusecs of water from the dam into the Bhogavati river bed while 8,174 cusecs water was discharged from Chandolee dam to its outlet into warna river, the spokesman said.
No rain-related mishap was reported from any part of the district, the spokesman added.
