Samajwadi Party demands dismissal of Orissa Health Minister
Bhubaneswar, Aug 4 (UNI) Orissa unit of the Samajwadi Party today urged Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik to dismiss Minister of State for Health and Family Welfare Dyurodhan Majhi for the illegal trade of fake medicines and female foeticides in the state.
At a mass rally organised here under the chairmanship of party president Baishanab Charan Parida, the leaders held the Health Minister responsible for the proliferation of fake medicines and the largescale female foeticides reported in the state.
The leaders also alleged that narcotics worth crores of rupees were being sold illegally with the full knowledge of the minister concerned, police and the Health department.
They further alleged that there was a nexus among the fake medicine dealers, doctors, nursing homes, ministers and departmental officers.
The SP leaders also demanded action against the Excise and Child Welfare Ministers and the officers involved in these illegal activities.
