J and K's third women police station to be set up in Rajouri

Jammu, Aug 4 (UNI) A women police station will be set up in Rajouri district of Jammu and Kashmir, Director General of Police (DGP) Kuldeep Khoda today said.

Addressing the Police Darbar of twin border districts of Rajouri and Poonch at District Police Lines Rajouri, the new DGP stressed the need for a women police station at the border district of Rajouri which will be the third women police station in the state after Jammu and Srinagar.

''We are trying to set up a women police station in this border district,'' he said, adding that the police station will be developed into a Model police station.

Mr Khoda asked the security personnel to be decent with the public and respect human rights under all circumstances while tackling the insurgency operations.

''Jammu and Kashmir police is emerging as an elite force in the country and its officers and jawans have made supreme sacrifices to protect the life and property of people during the last 18 years of militancy in the state,'' the DGP said.

The State police chief assured all ranks of the force that their genuine problems would be addressed.

The DGP also visited the common facilities complex building which houses a shopping complex, welfare center, CSD canteen, fitness center, barber and tailoring shops.
