Govt job and Rs one lakh to wife of police firing victim
Madhubani, Aug 4 (UNI) The Bihar government today announced that Rs one lakh and a government job would be provided to the wife of Darshanand Thakur, killed in police firing at Chakdah village in the district yesterday.
On directive from Chief Minister Nitish Kumar, state Home Secretary Afzal Amanullah and Additional Director General of Police in CID Yashwant Malhotra arrived the village and enquired about the incident.
Both officers met the wife of the victim and made the announcement of the compensation.
Earlier, Mr Thakur was killed and five others were injured when police opened fire to quell a violent mob at Chakdah village following the dispute over release of accumulated water in the village yesterday.
