Employees of private firm at airport arrested

Chennai, Aug 4 (UNI) Airport police have arrested two employees belonging to a private firm handling the baggages at Anna international airport here on a charge of stealing gold ornaments from a passenger's luggage.

Police said, Parvez, who came to Chennai from Dubai two months ago, found his bag had mistakenly taken by his co-passenger Reddyappa. Immediately, Parvez surrendered Reddyappa's baggage to airport authorities who, in turn, handed them over to the private firm taking care of luggages.

Later, Parvez informed Reddyappa about the incident and collected his own bag from him. When Reddyappa went to the airport to retrieve his luggage, he was shocked to see 50 gold soverigns missing.

Police recovered the stolen jewellary from the employees of the private company and they were remanded in judicial custody, police added.
