CPI(M) adopts 'secret political agenda' to benefit TDP: Congress
Hyderabad, Aug 4 (UNI) The State Congress Legislature Party (CLP) today accused the CPI(M) of adopting a 'secret political agenda' to benefit the opposition Telugu Desam Party (TDP) in the next Assembly elections.
The State Congress Legislature Party had alleged that the CPI(M) state unit was 'solely responsible' for the killing of seven people in the police firing at Mudigonda in Khammam district.
Posing ten questions to CPI(M) State Secretary and National Council member B V Raghavulu, Government Chief Whip N Kirankumar Reddy said in a statement here that the Mudigonda incident was a 'political conspiracy' of the party. The Left party was not working for the welfare of the poor, but for the TDP's 'political gain' in the land struggle, he alleged.
He said Chief Minister Y S Rajasekhara Reddy was implementing the election promises by distributing lands and houses to the poor in a phased manner.
In another release here, Congress MLCs G Rudraraju and M Batti Vikramarka alleged that the CPI(M) was obstructing the government from distributing lands and house sites to the poor to gain political mileage by organising 'unnecessary' agitations in the State.
