Agartala, Aug 3: Tripura Pradesh Congress Committee today condemned the anonymous tele-threat to Union Heavy Industries Minister Santosh Mohan Deb from Tripura.

In a statement here, the Congress stated that an anonymous phone call from Tripura was received at the official residence at Delhi of Mr Deb by one of his house-keeping staff. The anonymous caller threatened the minister of dire consequences if he came to Tripura.

Subsequently, an FIR was lodged at Parliament Street police station.

Congress leaders alleged that the ruling CPI(M) workers were involved in the mischievous act and demanded the state government to investigate the matter.

Meanwhile, CPI(M) leaders refused to comment on the issue saying that they were unaware of the incident and indicated that the dissident factions of Mr Deb in Tripura Congress might have been involved in the 'childish act.'
