Sisters stabbed by unemployed brother, accused absconding

New Delhi, Aug 3 (UNI) Two sisters were critically injured after being stabbed multiple times by their unemployed brother in West Delhi's Uttam Nagar area.

The condition of one of them, Rani (32), who received nearly eight stabbings, is said to be serious, said the police.

''She is admitted to the ICU of the Deen Dayal Upadhyay Hospital and is serious.'' The incident occured late last night at about 2300 hrs after accused Mustaqin went to his younger sister Saira's house in 'E' Block of Om Vihar and stabbed her five times in the stomach.

Subsequently, he went to his other sister's place in nearby 'D' Block and knifed her nearly eight times.

Mustaqin later fled and is yet to be arrested, police added while emphasising that the motive of the crime was yet to be ascertained as the sisters were not in a condition to make any statement.

Hailing from Bulandshahr in Uttar Pradesh, the accused used to live with his sisters.

While Rani's husband is a property dealer, Saira's husband runs a tailoring unit.
