Shiv Sena files nomination for Jamshedpur bypoll

Jamshedpur, Aug 3 (UNI) With the issuing of notification by the returning officer-cum-deputy commissioner of East Singhbhum district N M Kulkarni, the electioneering for Jamshedpur Lok Sabha bypoll began today.

Mr Kulkarni said Shiv Sena candidate B P Singh was the first to file nomination papers.

While bypoll slated for August 29, the counting is on August 31.

Altogether 13,96,224 voters, including 7,31,788 males and 6,63,969 females and 467 auxillary electors, would cast vote.

Mr Kulkarni said out of 1260 booths 470 have been identified as super sensitive while 193 marked as sensitive.

He said adequate para military forces would be deployed during the election and the administration would left no stone unturn to conduct free and fair election.

Mr Kulkarni said a case was lodged with the Kadma police station here against Bahujan Samaj Party candidate Salkhan Murmu for alleged violation of model code of conduct on March 25. Mr Murmu organised a rally without obtaining permission from the concerned authorities after model code of conduct came to effect, he said.
