New Delhi, Aug 3 (UNI) Concerned over the reported threat by militant organisation Hizbul Mujahideen to non-Kashmiris, particularly labourers from Bihar and UP to leave the state, the BJP today deputed a three-member delegation under the leadership of Syed Shahnawaz Hussain to visit Kashmir to study the situation.

Addressing newspersons, BJP spokesman Prakash Javadekar said as per their reports, about 30,000 labourers had already left the state in the wake of the threat.

It was a matter of great concern that the Centre and the State Government were silent over the threat. It was the duty of the government to provide them security, he said.

The delegation would leave for Kashmir tomorrow and meet Chief Minister Ghulam Nabi Azad, police and paramilitary officials to take stock of the situation and report back to to the party president. The delegation would also visit Jammu, Mr Javadekar added.
