One dead, 14 injured in road accidents

Dehradun, Aug 3 (UNI) One person died and 14 others were injured in separate road accidents in Chamoli district of Uttarakhand today.

According to Chamoli SP office sources, a Bolero jeep heading towards Badrinath from Joshimath fell into the bank of river Alaknanda at Lambagad, instantly killing one passenger and injuring 9 others. All the injured have been extricated from the ill-fated jeep by police personnel and admitted in Pandukeshwar Health Centre.

In another incident, five labourers were injured, three seriously, when a truck they were travelling in fell into a 25-metre deep gorge at Mayapur. The truck was heading towards Pipalkoti from Birahi. All the injured have been admitted to the District Hospital, police said.
