Nikkei up 0.2 pc after further gains on Wall Street

Tokyo, Aug 3: Japan's Nikkei average rose 0.21 percent on Friday with investors picking up exporters such as Sony Corp. after another day of gains on Wall Street and a slightly softer yen.

The Nikkei was up 35.69 points at 17,019.80 as of 0001 GMT.

The broader TOPIX index added 0.41 percent to 1,676.16.
