Moral duty of media stressed

Vijayawada, Aug 3 (UNI) Media can play a very important role for establishing a value-based society and it has been doing this from the days of the freedom struggle, though with some aberrations, experts observed.

The moral obligations of the media were evolved at a seminar on 'Role of media in establishing a value-based society', organised by the Prajapita Brahma Kumari Ishwariya Vishwavidyalaya here today.

Prof Krishna Chandramouli of Makhanlal Chaturvedi National University of Journalism, Bhopal, said 'spiritualism' was essential for the media to regulate itself and restore the values of the past.

Media Wing National Coordinator B K Sushant said media should carve out a more responsible role for itself and discharge the duties like a friend, philosopher and guide to the society.
