Man given 2 months to pay loan or face jail term by court

Vadodara, Aug 3 (UNI) A man was given 60 days time to repay a loan or face a year's imprisonment by the fast track court judge P H Kala here today.

Badrubhai Lokhandwala had borrowed Rs 3.75 lakhs from Ankurbhai Mahant of Vallabh Vatica society at Waghodia road here, four years back. For the first two years, Badrubhai was giving a postdated cheque payable after a year. Then after two years his cheque bounced.

Ankurbhai then through his lawyer Jagdish Ramani filed a case under the Negotiable Instruments Act against Badrubhai.

At the hearing today, Judge Kala gave two months time to repay the loan, failing which Badrubhai would be sentenced to a year's jail term.
