Kerala HC disposes writ petition on schooling of HIV child-victims

Kochi, Aug 3 (UNI) The Kerala high court today disposed of a writ petition seeking schooling for five HIV affected children after the school management filed an affidavit stating it had no objection in permitting the students to continue their studies there.

A division bench comprising Chief Justice H L Dattu and Justice Harun-al-Rashid observed that in view of this development, the relief sought by the petitioner did not survive for consideration of the court.

The bench then disposed of the petition, filed by the Foundation For Integrated Research and Mental Health, Thiruvananthapuram, against the ''inaction and lethargy'' of the government in the matter of denial of fundamental rights to life and education to the five children, who were stopped from attending the M.D.L.P.School at Pampadi, Kottayam, following protests from the parents of other students.
